Internally

- Measure & monitor all utilities, including CO2 (through our inhouse technology, My Green Vision). We have LED Lighting, Battery Storage & Solar PV across our group portfolio.

- Recently committed to planting 2,000 trees with One Tree Planted.

- Reuse any packaging materials possible, including bubble wrap, wooden pallets, paper & cardboard.

- Request suppliers to wherever possible provide ethically sourced raw materials.

- Have dedicated paper/recycling bins throughout the offices, and designated skips onsite.

- Free to use Electric Car charging points for employees and site visitors.

Onsite

- Vehicle sharing where possible.

- Low Emission vehicles used- electric where possible.

- Encourage the use of further technologies, including monitoring & renewables.

- Recycling of old light fixtures when removed from site, in line with our policy:

- All lamps are removed from the fittings and put safely into a coffin or container designated.

- These are regularly & appropriately collected by a waste management company.

- The mostly metal bodies of the fittings that are removed, which are mostly metal, and taken to a recycle centre.

- Old batteries are removed and recycled separately in a designated container

- All cardboard on-site is either placed in a skip provide or brought back to our HQ and disposed of in our own recycling skip.

Social responsibility

One Electrical is committed to ensuring that any business undertakings are conducted as ethically as possible.

To retain our skilled, dedicated team, we work hard to maintain a positive working environment. We’re a living wage employer and commit to paying our staff correctly and on time. We also provide training opportunities and regularly take on new apprentices in various departments.

It’s also important to us that we support the community and charities. Our chosen company charity is Ronald McDonald House Manchester, an organisation that creates, finds, and supports programmes that directly improve the health and well-being of children.
